Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was the greatest factor in making the 2008 US Presidential election just another chunk of the great world history. We have to give the man the credit because we cannot deny the fact that a huge part of his victory came from his metaphorical expertise and exceptional charm. Mr. Obama was able to achieve what Democrats failed to do so in 2000 and 2004. He came very near in comparison to what Bill Clinton pulled off in 1996 when he won 379 electoral votes. Surprisingly, he also won in at least eight states where George Bush was victorious back in 2004. These states include Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, Nevada, Indiana, Virginia, Florida and New Mexico. It should be noted that he won by 15% points in New Mexico which is, as history shows, a record that hasn’t been done by a Democratic presidential candidate for more than four decades now. The last Democrat who performed this good in the said state was Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
Barack Obama put another feather on his laurel by being the first Democratic Presidential candidate to have ever won more than 50.1% of the vote. And what he has achieved in Indiana was such a sweet victory. It was a neck to neck race and the thing is that no Democratic presidential candidate ever made it in Indiana since 1964 but Mr. Obama won by just a single percent over John McCain.
Obviously he lost among white voters, but the kind of unity that the African Americans displayed to support him was really tremendous not to mention the support which the Hispanics also gave him. He is also popular among the young voters particularly 18-29 years old.
To wrap it up, Barack Obama came out victorious because people wanted change to happen. Let’s just hope Mr. Obama will not fail us. God Bless America!

Obama got a huge amount of white people voting for him. If he never he wouldn’t be the next president of the USA, it is as simple as that!
