Future Plans

07/1/09

So what are my plans fo Facts? Here’s the thing, I would like to transform this blog into a money generating website, just like my other i.ph blogs. My only problem is that I haven’t had enough time to pack this blog with posts. It’s either because I am too lazy or my time management skill is a wreck.

I also have a few more blogs under i.ph that have acquired page ranks as they aged through time. One is the Topic Pond, that is pretty much similar to Facts. The other one is called Info Blog. It basically covers any topic under the sun. I also named my personal website (my own domain) as Info Blog. So here’s my plan - populate these three blogs with informative and quality posts, give them some legit hits and just continue to maintain them consistently. When these blogs are ripe enough, I will apply them for money making assignments. I need dollarz!

Facts is Alive

06/11/09

The logn period of inactivity should be stopped. I am bringing back to life this blog. Facts has served lots of essential ideas and I won’t allow it to simply die out because of a long period of inactivity. I will find time to work on articles for this blog and soon enough I hope I get to use Facts as a money making blog. We’ll see. It only depends on the effort that I will put in. And perhaps facts is already ripe enough for it to venture the world of Internet marketing.

DotA Talk Bone + Moon

05/14/09

Are you a fan of DotA? Who is your favorite hero? Mine is Clinkz Eastwood, the Bone Fletcher. I think I perform well with this hero although I haven’t really mastered this one. Usually, my item build for bone fletcher is buriza and monkey king bar. But I have also successfully used two divine rapiers. Those are killer weapons! I also love to use Luna Moonfang, the Moon Rider. There was this one game where I had Luna, buffed with three Butterflies. I thought that was a good idea but the game of balance got the better of me. I guess the best item build for Luna is a combination of Butterfly, Satanic and Buriza. The Butterfly for speed, Satanic for durability and Buriza for damage. I prefer using Phase Boots than Power Threads for quicker move speed and armor though Threads will help increase the agility.

Jiu-jitsu

04/7/09

Considered as a form of martial arts that was handed down from ancient Samurai warriors of Japan during its war-torn era, it has become one of the more preferred disciplines around the world. The movements of Jiu-jitsu are mostly made up of ground-grappling, throws, punches, and kicks. The martial arts discipline also teaches the student how to handle weapons. The techniques applied in Jiu-jitsu center mostly on the use of leverage as oppose to brute strength. This means that mastery of the techniques is what matters.

Humvee

02/6/09

If you’re playing the RTS PC Game Command and Conquer Generals, this will be familiar to you.

A Humvee is known as the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle or HMMWV. This vehicle is a 4WD created by AM General which is a heavy vehicle manufacturer based in America. Some of the features of this military vehicle are the use of geared hubs and independent suspensions for a ground clearance of 16 inches, disk breaks on all wheels and the 4-wheel double-wishbone suspension.

Humvees have 17 variants as far as the United States armed forces are concerned. Well if you ask me, I won’t be able to easily differentiate a Humvee of a specific type to another of a different type. Some of the functions of Humvees include: carrier of TOW missiles, prime movers of M119 howitzer, air support vehicle and carriers of S250 shelter.

Left 4 Dead

01/3/09

I haven’t actually tried this game but my sister’s friend gave me a copy of it. It is also playable in Garena. So before installing the game, I searched for Left 4 Dead in Google and found out some interesting information regarding this action game.

Left 4 Dead is available in PC and Xbox 360. The game features three types of game modes: single player, co-operative and multiplayer. In this game, a group of four survivors is set to clash with numerous hordes of hungry and ferocious zombies.

One interesting feature of Left 4 Dead or L4D is the AI Director. This will provide unique game play experience for players every time they play. The behavior of zombies is recalculated by the AI Director in order to adjust to your gaming skills. This includes adjustments in the game pace, audio and special effects.

L4D was released last November 18 2008 in the United States and November 21 2008 worldwide.

Later, I will see for myself if L4D is really a badass game or just a typical RPG game. Well, I forgot to mention, L4D was developed by Valve Corporation, the makers of the Legendary first-person shooter video game, Half-Life.

Christmas Trivia

12/21/08

The 1997 Gallup Poll shows that 29% of Americans are more stressed than joyful during the Holiday season.

The Gale Research shows that there are about 30 Christmas gifts being wrapped each year in an average American household.

Historical accounts proved that 200 years earlier before Ferdinand Magellan discovered the Philippines, Christmas was already being celebrated in the place.

Charles Dickens wrote other stories about Christmas every year after the success of A Christmas Carol but nothing equaled the original in terms of fame.

The first US state that recognized Christmas as an official holiday is Alabama.

In Ukraine, artificial spider and web are often seen as decoration on Christmas trees for good luck.

The Barack Obama Victory

11/23/08

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was the greatest factor in making the 2008 US Presidential election just another chunk of the great world history. We have to give the man the credit because we cannot deny the fact that a huge part of his victory came from his metaphorical expertise and exceptional charm. Mr. Obama was able to achieve what Democrats failed to do so in 2000 and 2004. He came very near in comparison to what Bill Clinton pulled off in 1996 when he won 379 electoral votes. Surprisingly, he also won in at least eight states where George Bush was victorious back in 2004. These states include Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, Nevada, Indiana, Virginia, Florida and New Mexico. It should be noted that he won by 15% points in New Mexico which is, as history shows, a record that hasn’t been done by a Democratic presidential candidate for more than four decades now. The last Democrat who performed this good in the said state was Lyndon Johnson in 1964.

Barack Obama put another feather on his laurel by being the first Democratic Presidential candidate to have ever won more than 50.1% of the vote. And what he has achieved in Indiana was such a sweet victory. It was a neck to neck race and the thing is that no Democratic presidential candidate ever made it in Indiana since 1964 but Mr. Obama won by just a single percent over John McCain.

Obviously he lost among white voters, but the kind of unity that the African Americans displayed to support him was really tremendous not to mention the support which the Hispanics also gave him. He is also popular among the young voters particularly 18-29 years old.

To wrap it up, Barack Obama came out victorious because people wanted change to happen. Let’s just hope Mr. Obama will not fail us. God Bless America!

Pirates of the Caribbean Trivia

10/16/08

THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL (2003)

The movie, Pirates of the Caribbean was inspired by one of the rides in Disney theme park with the same name.  The movie was the first film that Walt Disney launched as PG-13 even though they have been releasing Rated R films since the 1980s.

One of the scenes that movie-watchers won’t probably notice is that on the part when Will wakes up after he has been knocked-out, he looks outside and sees in the port the girl who played the part of young Elizabeth was sweeping at a doorway. The film was premiered in Disneyland Park in California on June 28, 2003 and has been the first movie to be premiered inside the Disneyland Park.

DEADMAN’S CHEST (2006)

The Deadman’s Chest was the next installment to The Curse of the Black Pearl. Two ships were built for the production – The Black Pearl and The Flying Dutchman.

In this film, Keira Knightley had to wear hair extensions again (as with the first film) because her hair was still short from her previous film Domino (2005).

Regarding the ghost who ‘haunted’ the ship that Elizabeth was riding in, she set the word ‘Tortuga’ on fire as a sign to the crew where to go next. Guess what font the set used?  It was written in the trademark Disney font.

The producers were too excited for the next installment that they decided to shoot Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End back-to-back with the second film.

Harvard University

08/30/08

Initially called Harvard College, the school was established in 1636 through a vote by the Great and General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. It was named Harvard College in honor of its first benefactor, a young minister named John Harvard of Charlestown. When he died in 1638, he left his library and one-half of his estate to Harvard College. In 1643 the first scholarship fund of Harvard College was created from the gift given by Ann Radcliffe, Lady Mowlson. In the first few years of the institution, the academic course being offered was based on the English university model. However it is still coherent with the existing Puritan philosophy of the first colonists.

History of Ethiopia

08/22/08

The oldest self-governing country in Sub Saharan Africa is Ethiopia. Proof of existence of Ethiopian history dated way back in 1000B.C. It was the time when King Solomon was visited by the Queen of Sheba. The first kingdom in Ethiopia that was ever recorded was developed within Axum in the ancient 3rd century B.C. Axum was an end result of the Semitic Sabeam kingdoms of Southern Arabia until it was considered the supreme ivory market in the North East. In the next centuries that followed, Axum increasingly invaded the state of Meroe in Sudan. When Christianity was already the religion of state during the 4th century A.D., the kingdom became under enemy control of Ethiopia. Frumentius, a young Syrian from Axum adopted Christianity in the country and initially converted the King. Later in 330 A.D. Frumentius became the first Bishop.

Some parts of Yemen and Southern Arabia were also dominated by Axum and it continued to be in power pending the passing away of Prophet Mohammed. When the Islamic religion started to spread out, Ethiopia lost its connection with its earlier Mediterranean trading partners and followers. Egyptians were taken over by Muslims in the Red Sea harbors. When Muslim development started in the 12th century, independent trading kingdoms developed along the coast of the Red Sea. After the World War II, Ethiopia continued to be an independent nation.

Nintendo Wii

08/12/08

For the not so avid gamer, the Wii may not ring a bell.  However, the Nintendo Wii is currently taking the gaming console industry by storm with crowd pleasing features and program innovations that makes it one of the bigger winners of the gaming industry.  The Nintendo Wii gaming console which is similar to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, can be positioned either vertically or horizontally and is currently the most compact architecture in terms of gaming consoles.  Weighing in at only 2.7 pounds and only measures 8.5 inches long and 6 inches wide with a thickness of approximately 2 inches, the gaming console boasts of sharp lines and clean design similar to the white finish of Apple computers.

The introduction of the Nintendo Wii is considered very timely especially in terms of the flack taken by the computer gaming industry where gamers are lacking physical activity.  The Nintendo Wii takes interactive technology to a new level by allowing the player to mimic the actual action that the video game requires for the game’s play mode.  The gaming console can be used with a Wii Remote and also a Nunchuk which is a joystick type controller that must be connected to the remote to provide the user with additional game controls.  The 480p maximum resolution and Bluetooth capability of the device are some of the additional features which make it the most probable leader in gaming console technology.

Is Jesus Family Tomb a Fact or Fiction?

07/20/08

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g235/Fake_Henry/heartlight%20images/Jesus_tomb.jpg

Producer James Cameron of The Titanic fame and Jewish director Simcha Jacobovici tried to prove that the burial cave and bones of Jesus were discovered near Jerusalem. The attempt was made possible through a TV documentary in Discovery Channel in 2007. Furthermore, the two showed evidence that Jesus had a son with Mary Magdalene. If their claims were true, then everything in the Christian history are based on false claim that He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven after 3 days. Some of the facts that they claim include the discovery in 1980 of ten limestone boxes dated way back to the 1st century.
